A company called Multitech was established in 1976.  Located in Taiwan, its main objective was trade and product design.   They did this well as they formed the Micro Processor Training Center in 1978.  This is where they trained and prepared 3000 engineers for success for the IT industry.  They also incorporated their motto of  “the goodness of human nature” into their training.

A few of Multitech’s achievements early on were exporting and mass producing Taiwan’s first PC, producing Taiwan’s first 8 bit home computer, and establishing Acerland, the first franchised retail computer chain in Taiwan.

Acer employs over 5000 people all over the world.  They have over 100 countries that sell and service their products.  By the year 2005 they reported revenues close to the $10 billion mark.  Increasing to over $14 billion in 2007.  Acer was ranked as the second top laptop vender and third top PC vender.

Acer has shown the fastest company growth among the top five computer manufacturer companies.  Their merger with Gateway and Packard Bell have strengthened this company so that their goals could be achieved.

This strong company also has a very large and strong manufactured product list.  Desktops, notebooks, tablet PC’s, servers, storage devices, handheld computers, monitors, projectors, digital cameras, and televisions are just some of Acers main products.

Desktops that are designed for businesses provide them with professional level capabilities, that have greater productivity, and multitasking, while still guaranteeing features and value.  These products can be currently found under the Veriton and AcerPower brand name.

As for home users desktops, they provide multimedia, home entertainment, performance and communication abilities.  These can be found with the Aspire model name.

Acer’s handheld devices combine many functions into one unit.  An example of this is the Acer Pocket PC Travel Companion .  This has PDA, trip navigator abilities, MP3 playback, Bluetooth technologies, and wireless capabilities.
 The LCD TV and computer monitors produced by Acer are also well known products.  They are available in many trim lines.  They range from basic and economical to sleek and stylish, like the Ferrari LCD monitors.
