Learn More About HP (Hewlett Packard)
How would your company like to be affiliated with Walt Disney? That is how HP or Hewlett Packard got its first big break. Their first customer was Disney! They purchased eight of HP’s audio oscillators to test and provide sound for the ever famous movie Fantasia. This break gave HP tremendous momentum for the future.
Now that HP had made a name for themselves in the technology inventions, their next step was to have success in management innovations. They shook up the management world with new ideas and processes, naming their new management style “management by objective”. One of their ideas was to create a more open and relax work environment.
They accomplished this by having supervisors walk around, listen, and communicate to workers that presented more ideas or problems. They reveled an openness with open cubicle work areas, door less executive offices, and referred to other co workers with first names rather than titles. Rewarding employees with company parties and picnics, and provided them with excellent medical insurance made worker happier. This all took place over sixty years ago, but many of the practices are widely accepted today.
Over the years HP has delivered many products to consumers, making them one of the more recognizable manufactures. In 2007, HP revenue was listed as well over $100 billion. It all started with their 1st computer produced in 1966, and their HP Laser jet printer line released in 1984. This line of printers had been HP’s most successful creation yet. In 2006, over 100 million laser jet printers had been produced and presented to consumers.
They were also the fist to produce handheld scientific calculators. HP printers can be found in a variety of locations form home to government offices. They have several different types, such as all-in-one, color inkjet, photo, mobile printers for Bluetooth and wireless connections, and professional image solutions for large size prints and quality photo graphics.
To go along with the printers, print drivers are needed to install the printer in to your computer system. These drivers are usually found on CD ROM that comes with the printer purchase. They can also be found on the HP website, where consumers can download it.
Printers must also have ink or toner. HP also produces these, and presents consumers with many programs that cut down the cost, along with recycling programs.
You will find HP products for home use, small and medium businesses, large enterprise businesses, graphic arts, government, health and education organizations. Each category has special products that are designed specifically for their needs.
